top 10 static toons

Hey peeps,

The new and improved ES website has been live for a good while now, about time methinks to share our top 10 static hits - an oldie but a goodie!

i'll throw mine into the ring to get the ball rolling (bit partial to the older stuff but love it all!!)

in no particular order...

the brain (beautiful mellow workout)
eat static (signature tune of the early years, RIP Ricardo Montalban!)
uforic undulance (colossal closer of the Implant album)
kryll (perhaps ES' most out there tune ever)
follow that camel (totally different sound)
visitors (the missus' fave! De classified is the best electronica album of the last 10 years)
gulf breeze (an all time Static anthem, merv dropped this for me at the Inspiral Lounge in '08 - tidy!)
kalika (love the abduction album, thier most organic record)
lost in time (first example of the true 'alien' sound IMHO)
salon kitty (such a jazzy tune, in retrospect, the Crash and Burn and In the Nude 'experiments' were a triumph and a delightful detour)

Love to see what others' faves are, get posting!

Merv, hope all's good at static HQ, any shows in the south in the pipeline?
Looking forward to the new album too!!

PS currently discovering the Ozrics, recommendations welcome!

Oh man mission impossible..! 10 Albums maybe!
Abduction, Forgotten Rites, Gulf Breeze, The Brain, Lost in Time, Hybrid, Survivors, Kazmir, Follow that Camel, UFO over Trenchtown, Implant, First Revelation would have to be in there, just from the top of my head. And then there's all the remixes, Dendron, Hifi companions etc...

Gotta listen to some Static right now, ha!

As soon as i clicked "post" i changed my mind on my top ten!

I should have said my ten CURRENT faves!

On any given day i'd include Science of the Gods/Survivors/Implant/Splitting World/Medicine Wheel/Epidemic/Holy War/Our Man in Nirvana/Sucker Unit in my list!

Just so much great music, they really are the only electronic band i listen to these days.
What i wouldn't give to spend a day in the studio with the Mervalator. Legend
