regarding to actual youtube videos its multitrack adat > mixer <-> fx > pa also check out the classic dub technices, ala mad professor. i think it is pretty the same! ;D on youtube you can find some studio videos of mad professor! what would be interesting for me is how often merv uses midi and sysex in the studio, or if he just loops his beloved hw synths. btw i saw merv using a roland gaia on some actual youtube livefootage video, glad im having the same! bought one 2nd hand half of new price some months ago! nice VA Synth with hands on control IMHO!

Merv what FX are you using when playing live? And what is that squeaky synth you alway play live. like the laser of a landing ufo as its scanning the dilated pupils of the crowd?
And what are you mainly doing when you get both hands on the mixer an pull funny faces? are you twisting the sweepable mids of the panned stereo channels?
I have seen in your live sets that you always have your sh101 plugged in but dont really touch it. Is that because it is all being triggered by midi to make the sounds and the parameters automated automatically?

Still using Cubase, still don't like Logic.. Synth-wise,the main ones are the SH5 and the SH101...some of the softsynths are ok but not many!
That's a decade ago..... Since then, what's the update?
.......Be interesting to hear what's happening.
Have a ten year old, who's started playing a little with Audacity, a mic and some downloaded beats, and Hydrogen is possibly next.
First challenge is a jingle-like sequence for use for a project presentation of some schoolish investigation.
These are baby steps.
Any advice for a small beginner with regard to tool use?
Looking especially for ideas/tools that bring along basic, useful skills to build on.
With regards to music I'm exclusively the third party, the dancer, the listener, so some input to the mix of self-directed learning we're brewing will be greatly appreciated!
